X8 PROSPECTOR

The X8 PROSPECTOR is a fully integrated system designed for high-throughput protein crystal screening. The X8 PROSPECTOR combines a highly reliable, low maintenance sealed-tube X-ray source with state-of-the-art multi-layer optics and the fastest, most sensitive CCD detector available today.

Based on our rock-solid sealed tube X-ray source, this system is extremely reliable. The unique, specially optimized Montel 200 multilayer optics give you a very intense beam: comparable to a conventional 5.4 kW rotating anode with total reflection optics. The exclusive design of the optics gives the same performance as at installation, all year round!

We have coupled this source with our best-in-class, fourth-generation CCD detectors, giving you the fastest system of its kind. Whether you choose the ultra-sensitive APEX II detector or a larger PLATINUM detector, you get a winning combination. Together these components form a compact and extremely fast analysis system which is ideally suited for routine screening.

While designed with screening applications in mind, the X8 PROSPECTOR is flexible enough to be used for other applications such as absolute configuration of light-atom small molecules and protein structure determination.
