The purpose of the workshop is to provide participants with a fundamental knowledge of the physics of X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and how to apply this technique to elemental analysis of nearly anything.

Learning will be accomplished by hands-on analysis of materials that participants bring to the workshop. XRF instruments will be available for the attendees to use at the workshop and thereafter for 2 weeks at the site for no cost or fee*. Attendees will be provided with software for spectral evaluation and extensive documentation. The workshop is Non-Commercial and focused on learning the fundamentals of Handheld XRF.

Each workshop is packed with information and application examples. Ideally, participants bring their samples or materials of interest as well as their own Laptops (sorry, only the PC platform is supported at this moment).

Requirements:

• You will need to be able to provide an adequate venue, digital projector and organize attendees, which can be from your institution or from any institution nearby! 
• Have interest to get hands-on experience with XRF.

* Only applies to states where NO state or government certification is required for the operation of tube based XRF units. For Canada it is necessary to have been certified as LEVEL-1 operator prior to the using the system.
