NPFLEX-LA
Non-Contact, 3D Surface Metrology System for Lead Angle
Quantifiable Lead Angle Metrology
The NPFLEX-LA™ Non-Contact, 3D Surface Metrology System for Lead Angle is the first comprehensive, non-contact metrology solution that repeatably quantifies true lead angle and surface texture on dynamic sealing surfaces. Building on the open-gantry platform of the NPFLEX 3D Surface Metrology System and employing intrinsic benefits of non-contact white light interferometry, NPFLEX-LA delivers reliable lead angle measurements along with the high performance 3D surface analysis capabilities of Bruker's optical profiler product line. The NPFLEX-LA detects global lead angle and surface roughness of seal interfaces without concern for lengthy part setup and alignment.
With NPFLEX-LA, Bruker answers the need for a reliable and accurate measurement technique to better monitor machining quality of dynamic sealing systems.
Reliable, Meaningful Results
- High-density, interferometric areal measurements with nanometer level resolution provides a gage-capable, quantifiable characterization of shaft-seal interfaces
- 3D, non-contact technique accurately measures lead angle over a wide range of shaft surface finishes independent of manufacturing method
Self-Referencing, Single-Instrument Solution
- Patent-pending measurement approach provides consistent, quantifiable results independent of part alignment
- Single product solution simultaneously quantifies surface texture and lead angle
Accurate, Comprehensive Characterization
- "Global" lead angle results incorporate macro and micro lead for a more reliable characterization of sealing surfaces
- Pass/Fail criteria identify and discard grain pull-outs, burrs, and scratches from overall lead angle calculation
Effortless, Guided Operation
- Production interface guides operators through simple setup and measurement for Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) environments
- Automatically generated reports assist in identification of machining issues and surface abnormalities, which often lead to subsequent part failure
