The Bruker AXS, Bruker Elemental and Bruker Nano Analysis divisions, based in Germany and the United States, design and manufacture analytical X-ray systems (XRD, XRF, X-ray crystallography), spark optical emission spectrometers (OES), handheld X-ray fluorescence (XRF) systems and micro-XRF systems for elemental analysis and materials research. Our innovative systems and solutions enable a wide range of customers in minerals & mining, metals foundries, metals processing, power, automobile, aerospace and other industries, (petro-) chemistry, pharmacy, jewellery & precious metals, as well as academic research and education to make technological advancements and to accelerate their processes.

Position Summary:

Plan, organize, coordinate and execute the establishment of Bruker’s West Africa direct and indirect sales, marketing and customer support functions for Bruker Materials Analysis products in West Africa, with offices to be established in a main commercial centre in West Africa (e.g. Accra / Ghana).

Develop and maintain strong relationship with all customers and distributors in assigned territory (primarily Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea and Senegal), by providing excellent technical sales and distributor support and supervision, and by positively representing Bruker in West Africa and neighbouring countries.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Strict adherence to Bruker’s Code of Conduct and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA)
• Planning, organizing, executing his/her own activities within the framework of the company, marketing department, and sales region, policies, procedures and budgets
• Strong customer contact and direct sales activity to ensure maximum sales of assigned products in West Africa. Efforts shall include locating all prospects, evaluating credibility, needs and funding of prospects, defining the sales strategy for each prospect, selling each prospect on advantages, etc. of using company's products and most importantly securing orders
• Setup and coordinate a distribution- and service network for the main countries and markets in the assigned region
• Being truly of service to each customer, distributor and prospect by keeping them aware of all company's products, by helping solve customers' problems, to establish and maintain effective personal relations
• Establishing and maintaining a thorough and detailed knowledge of all assigned products and their applications. Including detailed specifications, method of operation, prices, terms, deliveries, etc.
• Establishing and maintaining professional competence with latest sales methods and techniques
• Submitting weekly expense reports, monthly customer/territory status reports (including won/lost sales data), quarterly forecasts, and other reports as requested on a timely basis
• Preparing and issuing quotations or proposals in response to customers' RFQ's on a timely basis on standard company products in accordance with prices and terms of company's standard price schedules
• Cooperating with Marketing Managers and Regional Managers in South Africa and Germany in preparation of proposals for special products, gathering of customer, market and competitive data, mailing, optimization of local web presence, etc.
• Lead finding / lead identification and bid assistance for other Bruker Scientific Instruments businesses (e.g. NMR, EPR, preclinical MRI, AFM, EDS/EBSD for SEM/TEM)
• Participation in local trade shows and conferences
• Maintaining an up-to-date customer and contact database in the company approved format
• Other assignments as requested from the Regional Managers

Job Requirements:

Education / Experience:

• Advanced education (Bachelor, Masters or Ph.D. degree or similar qualification) in chemistry, physics, engineering, geosciences or equivalent
• Experience in analytical methods and laboratory instrumentation, preferable in elemental analysis or X-ray analysis
• Additional experience in marketing and/or selling of capital equipment would be an advantage

Skills:

• Excellent customer-relation and communication skills, dynamic and representative appearance
• Self-organized and used to methodically structured working with minimal supervision
• Ability to explain and describe complex technologies in an adequate customer oriented language
• Fluent in English and French language, spoken and written
• Solid experience with MS office software package

Other Requirements:

• Ability to travel extensively in West Africa, with regular trips to factories and R&D sites in Germany

Ihr Profil:

• Techniker oder naturwissenschaftliche Ausbildung (Fachhochschule/Universität)
• Sehr gute Kenntnisse in Elektronik und Mechanik
• Selbständiger und zielgerichteter Arbeitsstil
• Bereitschaft zu Dienstreisen im In- und Ausland

Bruker Nano Surfaces (BNS) is part of Bruker Corporation www.bruker.com, the worldwide leading provider of Scientific Equipment. The Bruker BNS division consists of 3 business units, AFM (Atomic Force Microscopy), SOM (Stylus and Optical Metrology) and TMT (Tribology and Mechanical Testing).

We currently have an opening for a Sales Applications Engineer (m/f) based in our Bruker Moscow office.

You will:

• Give application/scientific support in the sales process of selling our AFM, SOM and TMT products, by running demonstrations, organizing road shows, customer visits, conference presentations, etc., all in close cooperation with our local Russian distributor
• Act as an ‘expert’ in supporting and advising our customers in Russia and CIS countries, giving advanced product training, in close cooperation with the European team of application scientists
• Be responsible for the demo facilities of the BNS division in the Bruker Moscow office
• Act as ‘bridge’ between Bruker BNS in Europe, Bruker Moscow and our Russian distributor

We expect:

• A PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering/Materials Science or related, using AFM (Atomic Force Microscopy)
• Preferably >2 year working experience in the USA or Europe
• Strong personality, able to maintain effective relationships with colleagues, partners and customers
• Strong business acumen, having potential to grow into a management role in the future
• Fluent in Russian and English
• Willingness to travel intensively in Russia, CIS countries and Europe

Ihr Aufgabengebiet umfasst:

• Analysieren und Beseitigen von Fehlern und Störungen vorwiegend an komplexen CNCgesteuerten Werkzeugmaschinen und technischen Anlagen
• Durchführen von Wartungen, Inspektionen und BGV-Prüfungen
• Technische Unterstützung im Facility Management (Haustechnik)
• Planen und Dokumentieren von Instandhaltungsmaßnahmen
• Planen, Beschaffen oder Anfertigen von Ersatzteilen

Wir erwarten von Ihnen:
