D8 based 3-circle goniometer

High precision and unsurpassed reliability

Stepper motors with optical encoders ensure extremely precise angular values for the most demanding applications, while maintaining superb alignment for many years. Fast goniometer positioning enhances productivity. The 360° phi drive is so compact it swings under the incident beam collimator at any angle, to collect complete data sets for any crystal symmetry by using a combination of phi and omega scans.

The superior D8 design mounts the incident beam components, X-ray optics and beam collimators, on a novel precision track. These components can be exchanged rapidly with reproducible positioning.

A rotary shutter in combination with the safety shutter provides more accurate timing and longer component lifetime. An attenuator is available to insert in the incident beam. A track concentric with the 2-theta and omega ring gears makes it easy to support the color video camera for on-screen display of crystal samples, and to secure the KRYO-FLEX low temperature attachment for cooling the samples.
