CETR-Apex Indenter & Scratch Tester
Nanoindenter, Microindenter, Nano Scratch Tester, and Micro Scratch Tester
Bruker's signature nano-mechanical test instrument platform, CETR-Apex, comes with 6 easily interchangeable mechanical heads, high magnification microscope and imaging modules (AFM and 3d stylus profiler). It takes less than 2 minutes to interchange these heads (i.e a nanoscratch tester can become a nanoindenter or a microscratch tester in 2 minutes and vice versa).

Six Types of Mechanical Heads
- Nanoindenter head — Used to measure hardness, Young’s modulus of thin, ultra thin coatings and bulk materials (samples should be optically smooth for reliable data)
- Nano scratch head — Typically used for thin and ultra thin coatings of nm thickness (DLC, ALD, solar thin films, ITO, optical coatings, etc.)
- Microindenter head — Instrumented microindenter head is used to measure hardness, Young’s modulus of thick and thin coatings and bulk materials
- Micro scratch head — Typically used for coatings of micron scale thickness (PVD, CVD, paint, decorative coatings, etc.)
- Macro scratch head — Typically used for thick coatings and bulk materials
- Nano/Micro Tribology head — Used to measure wear, static and dynamic friction, durability, adhesion, stick slip, etc. (thin and thick films/coatings and bulk materials)
Features & Highlights
- The platform comes with anti-vibration table, acoustic and thermal enclosure for ensuring environmental stability
- 3-plate capacitance sensor to measure displacement with ultra high accuracy
- Mapping of unlimited number of indents
- User-definable analysis algorithm or models to calculate material properties
- ASTM, DIN and ISO compliant
