CS-Determination

CS-mat 6500

For rapid and precise carbon and sulfur analysis, the CS-mat system proves highly effective, especially with metallic materials and even at ppm levels.

The solid sample is combusted in the high frequency furnace in a ceramic crucible in an oxygen stream. The furnace power is adjustable in order to achieve optimum reaction conditions. The reaction gases CO2 and SO2 produced during combustion are quantified by IR detectors of maximum selectivity and sensitivity. The detector signals produced by IR absorption are automatically evaluated on the PC.

In carbon analysis two separate IR detectors simultaneously evaluate both high and low concentration ranges. The optimum range is selected automatically. This avoids preliminary selection and range changeover.

Important features:

  • short analysis time
  • fully automatic analysis and nearly maintenance-free operation
  • automatic dust removal (CS-mat 6500 and 6250)
  • selective IR detectors for CO2 and SO2,high resolution and reproducibility
  • continuously adjustable HF furnace power for optimum sample combustion in ceramic crucible (CS-mat 6500 and 6250)
  • clear lay-out of graphical user interface and software package in window format with pull-down menus
