Cu-Microfocus X-ray Source

Cu-Source - Effective use of 50 watts generates a focused beam with extremely high flux density while maintaining optimum beam alignment

An integral part of the success of the MicroFocus source is the coupling of the Cu tube to an X-ray optic which maintains precise alignment. The system is a fully integrated X-ray beam solution including an aircooled X-ray source coupled to a doubly curved crystal optic (DCC). The source and optic are aligned by an innovative alignment mechanism which provides a rock solid spot. The optic is adaptively positioned using closed-loop feedback control, to maintain a fixed output beam position and intensity with enhanced performance over conventional source-optic combinations. DCC optics are  oroidally-curved crystals for producing three-dimensionally focused, monochromatic X-rays. DCC optics capture a large solid angle of X-rays from an X-ray tube which are then focused to a 350 μm x 400 μm spot.
